Bedfordshire Euro MP Alex Mayer joined Marie Curie volunteers to launch the brightest fundraiser of the year.
Wearing a big yellow hat Ms Mayer kicked off the Great Daffodil Appeal selling daffodil pin badges to generous hearted Bedford shoppers to raise much needed funds for end of life care.
By wearing a daffodil, you help Marie Curie nurses care for more local people with a terminal illness. The more daffodils worn with pride, the more families Marie Curie can help.
An estimated 4,500 people in Bedfordshire receive bereavement support from hospices each year.
Alex Mayer MEP said: “It’s great to launch Bedford’s Great Daffodil appeal.
“With Winter ending, daffodils are popping up all around us, a symbol of spring and new beginnings.
“I can see this appeal is blossoming nicely which is excellent news as all the money raised helps Marie Curie provide much needed expert care to people with terminal illness, as well as supporting their families.”
